All shows have reserved seating. The seating is divided into five areas:

Premium Seats: First four rows orchestra center, four seats nearest the center in first four rows of orchestra left and orchestra right, and first two rows of loge (center)

Orchestra Front:  Seats on the main floor in front of the balcony

Orchestra Rear:  Seats on the main floor under the balcony

Loge:  Seats in the front portion of the balcony (accessible only by stairs from the main lobby)

Upper Balcony:  Seats in the upper portion of the balcony (accessible only by stairs from the main lobby)

Group Rate: For groups of 10 or more tickets purchased in advance, the price of each ticket is reduced by $2.00.

College Student Rush: College student rush rate tickets are available space permitting, and are sold one half hour before the start of the show for $10. College students must bring a valid ID and purchase the rush tickets at the Box Office only.

The Academy of Music is a beautiful old theater with a rich history. There are a small number of spaces for wheelchairs on the main floor. Some seats in the Rear Orchestra area have partially obstructed views of the stage due to the poles supporting the balcony, and are not available for advanced sale.

Ordering Tickets
You can order tickets through the Academy box office by mail, by telephone, in person, by email, or online. Box-office hours are Tues.-Fri. 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. and one hour before each performance. Emails and telephone messages left when the box office is closed will be returned at the next available office hours.

Online ticketing:
Using the Academy’s online ticketing service, you can order tickets directly, pick out the available seats you want, and print your tickets. You can do online ticketing by clicking the Online Tickets link at the top of the page.

When you are on the Academy site, scroll down through the chronological list of Academy offerings to the particular VLO show you wish to attend. Once you have chosen a show, you have the choice of "best available" or "choose your seat." If you cannot print your tickets, they can be held at the will-call desk to pick up when you arrive or mailed to you for an additional fee. There is a fee of $1.50 per ticket for use of the online service, and a 5% charge for credit/debit card use.
